Subject: DYNAMITE JERRY JEFF INTERVIEW!

Hi there, Buckaroos. Back from a great vacation. What did I miss?

Sending Pete Seeger's regards from Broadway. Turns out he's a big Jerry Jeff fan, too.

Just back from a two-week trip that saw me and the little woman get away for our first real vacation in years. And what a vacation it was.

Would you believe a night in the Lincoln bedroom? And coffee with the heads of the Big Three and the Secretary of Commerce? A bit pricey, but well worth it.

Lucky I got a bit of a discount, since I was acting as an intermediary for Web Hubbell with the Prez (Walter, Web's your client; it's OK if I mention this, isn't it?) Best advice from Web was not to call the Prez a "hairy-assed hillbilly." Bill's a little "touchy" on some issues, a little "feely" on others, ask my wife.

From Washington, it was down to Florida for some spring training to visit with my old UT classmate Roger Clemens. He's having a little trouble learning Canadian, but otherwise Rocket loves the idea of Toronto.

Also stopped over at Kissimmee, to see my good buddies Larry Dierker (the Astro master) and J.B. (The Parrotmeister). Jimmy -- he said hello! -- played a show at The Bamboo Hut there. Dirk got lit up worse than any day he was pitching and led the conga line. What a time!

Didn't get to stay in F-L-A long, though, because we had to go visit our two sons who are in school at Texas A&M. That College Station is a fine city, a model community. And, boy, do those Aggies have a great sense of humor!

Biff and Scooter are doing just fine, thanks for asking. They're working hard to keep their grades up so they can be accepted at a good law school. Right now, one is thinking Baylor, the other South Carolina.

Didn't get to stay for the Jerry Jeff show, though (the kids were going). We were black helicoptered out of A&M to D-FW, where we met Tipper and Al and jetted to the Grammys in Air Force Two.

Wasn't that Hillary something?

So, guess what we found when we got home this morning? A dub of Jerry Jeff's interview with that Fort Myers radio station. Bob Petersen sent it to me about the time we left and it's been sitting in our mail box since soon after we left on Valentine's Day. Well, I sat right down and spent the next 90 minutes transcribing it, and it's attached for all you good people to enjoy.

It's all Jerry Jeff and nothin' but. After all, this is the Jerry Jeff list. We don't get off-topic here.

Too bad I had unsubscribed to the list while I was gone. I bet I really missed
a lot these last couple of weeks.

Great to be back,
Dave
